According to the literature, Plant Endotherapy is not a modern technique, since it was used for centuries. According to the references it goes back to the Renaissance, since it was Leonardo Da Vinci who carried out the first tests by injecting into the trees. Another reference cites Ebn-el-Awam, a 12th century Andalusian Arab agronomist, who through cuts and holes introduced substances into trees and shrubs to modify their properties. [1]
But what is Plant Endotherapy? Colloquially it is better known as "Tree Injection". And how it works? It is very simple, when the injection is made into a tree, whether for a nutritional or phytosanitary purpose, the substances are absorbed by the tissues and are translocated through the vascular duct Xylem, which serves to flow from the treated area to the distant anatomical parts within the tree, such as: the branches, foliage, flowers, fruits and roots.
